Series 540 computerized vertical sealant testers (CVST), which supersede the 904 VST, are bench-top systems designed to test sealants, adhesives and coatings by applying alternating tension/ compression cycles to a specimen. The software allows for the counting of full or half cycles. Large numerical displays show crosshead displacement, cycle count and remaining delay/hold time. The software is also capable of performing and counting 2 billion cycles and allows for programmable hold times between each half cycle. Delay time can be longer than a generation, and a hot/cold chamber is an option.
