Praxair (Danbury, Conn.) signed a licensing agreement with German steel company ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG (Duisburg, Germany) for the use of Praxair's CoJet(r) gas injection system. The CoJet system delivers a laser-like coherent jet of oxygen into molten steel bath. It penetrates more deeply than a conventional supersonic jet stream, providing a more controlled and intense bath mixing, increasing productivity and reducing costs. The technology will be installed in ThyssenKrupp's Bruckhausen location.
