Kanthal Bethel, Bethel, Conn., announced that Dowa Mining Co., a Japanese commercial heat treater and furnace manufacturer, increased furnace temperature capability and added 30% carburizing capacity using Kanthal's Tubothal heating system. The system consists of high power, multishank, heavy gauge Tubothal wire heaters, protected with Kanthal FeCrAl radiant tubes. Previous Nickel-chrome elements in Dowa's carburizing furnace have been replaced with 69 Tubothal heaters.
