Solar Atmospheres of Western Pennsylvania, Hermitage, Pa., earned Boeing approval for heat treating. The facility is now able to perform a variety of vacuum thermal treatments of certain Boeing materials. The approvals include the following heat treatments and their corresponding materials: BAC 5617 Heat Treating of Alloy Steels, BAC 5619 Heat Treating of Corrosion Resistant Steel, BAC 5616 Heat Treat of Nickel and Cobalt Base Alloys, and BAC 5613 Heat Treat of Titanium and Titanium Alloys.
