T-M Vacuum Builds Glove Box System for Nuclear Equipment Testing
September 20, 2001
T-M Vacuum Products Inc., Cinnaminson, N.J., designed and built a stainless steel glove box system meeting unusually demanding performance specifications required for nuclear-equipment testing. Because the equipment being tested generates heat, the top section of the system includes a water-cooled heat exchanger and fan. The system also required a HEPA filter having a vacuum-tight housing on the inlet for negative-pressure operation. The system features a recirculating gas purification system for oxygen, moisture removal to less than 1 ppm in helium atmosphere and a nitrogen removal system. Monitors for moisture, oxygen and nitrogen also were provided.
