The Grieve Corp.
No. 662 is an electrically heated pit furnace with a maximum operating temperature of 2200 F (1205 C). Workspace dimensions are 30 in. wide by 30 in. long by 30 in. deep (760 by 760 by 760 mm) with a furnace shell of 0.187 in. sheet steel containing heating elements of rod over bend construction reaching a maximum of 40 kW input. A heavy-duty power transformer is also built into the furnace. The furnace includes a SCR power controller, a digital indicating temperature controller, a manual reset excess temperature controller, and a furnace door interlock to turn off heating elements as the door is opened.
