Drever Receives Three Galvanizing Furnace Contracts
Vega Steel in Brazil, a Usinor joint venture, has contracted Drever International to build a galvanizing-galvannealing furnace with estimated production of 115 tph. The furnace will have a maximum strip width of 1,875 mm and line speed of 150 mpm. Drever also will build a 1,820 mm-wide galvanizing-galvannealing furnace for Angang (P.R. China) with a scheduled completion date of 2003. The furnace will have a maximum production of 108 tph and a line speed of 150 mpm. In addition, Union Steel has contracted Drever to build the No. 4 CGL for Galvalume products at their South Korean plant. Average production is projected at 38 tph for the 1,270 mm-wide strip furnace. This will be the second furnace contract between Drever and Union Steel. The line will have a speed of 160 mpm and is scheduled for completion next year.
