Pusher Furnace Increases Capacity for United Gear & Assembly Inc.
A large capacity furnace has now become fully operational for United Gear & Assembly (UGA), Hudson, WI. The system is designed to carburize, quench, and temper as well as carburize and press quench without heating. Integrated into UGA's manufacturing operations, high volume components can now move through cell manufacturing to the pusher furnace and directly into press quenching. UGA's on-site metallurgical laboratory has installed in-process software systems to control and maintain tight quality levels. The continuous in-line system brings improved efficiencies, quality, and cost savings for high volume gears and shafts in the automotive, agriculture, construction, and marine markets.
