In response to rapid growth in demand for atomized thermal spray powders, Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc. and TAFA Incorporated commissioned operation of two atomization systems in the Indianapolis, Indiana powder facility. The atomizers feature vacuum induction melting, argon gas atomization, dry collection and a sophisticated argon gas recirculation system. The systems triple Praxair and TAFA's capacity for atomized powders of all types, including MCrAlYs, superalloys, and other nickel and cobalt based compositions.
