SGL Group - The Carbon Company and HYDRO, one of the world's leading alumina and aluminum producers, entered into a technical collaboration in order to tackle energy-saving potentials in the primary aluminum production process. SGL Group will contribute with its innovative cathodic products. Cathodes, which are used to conduct the electrical current required for the electrolysis of alumina into aluminum, are an integral part of the aluminum production process. Building on each other's technological strengths, energy savings in aluminum production should be realized faster.
