Praxair China started up a new air-separation plant in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, for Meishan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Baosteel Group, one of the world’s top steelmakers. This new air-separation plant has a capacity of 1,700 tons per day and supplies oxygen, nitrogen and argon to support Meishan Steel’s growing demand as well as deliver added value in energy efficiency and process safety. The plant will nearly double the existing oxygen production capacity serving Meishan Steel.
