Industrial Heating's monthly economic indicators for November 2011 improved from October, as all four indices experienced an increase and three of four indices showed growth. The change in the request for quotes and the change in backlog both showed growth for the thirteenth time in the past 14 months. November 2011’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their October 2011 business levels to their September 2011 levels. November’s numbers:

• Change in number of request for quotes from Sept. to Oct. – 51.9
• Change in number of orders from Sept. to Oct. – 53.8
• Change in backlog from Sept. to Oct. – 53.4
• Expected change in the health of the industry through Nov. – 49.1

A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in December’s Industrial Heating.
