Bodycote announced the opening of a new commercial nitriding
plant in southeast Michigan. State-of-the-art equipment has been purchased with
installation scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011. Production will commence
in the first quarter of 2012. In addition to conventional gas nitriding,
various ferritic nitrocarburizing processes will be offered, including
Bodycote’s proprietary “Corr-I-Dur” process. The new facility will allow
Bodycote’s multinational customers access to nitriding processes and technology
they are already comfortable with in Asia, Europe and South America.
