Precision Castparts Corp. agreed to acquire RathGibson, which manufactures precision thin-wall, nickel-alloy and stainless steel welded and seamless tubing, with broad capabilities in length, wall thickness and diameter. RathGibson’s products are used in a multitude of oil & gas, chemical/petrochemical processing and power-generation applications. The company operates three facilities in Janesville, Wis.; North Branch, N.J.; and Clarksville, Ark. RathGibson’s tubing complements Precision Castparts’ current products, which serve the high-end requirements of the oil & gas market with corrosion-resistant alloys. The transaction is expected to be completed during the first quarter of fiscal 2013.
