Praxair Mexico, a subsidiary of Praxair Inc., signed a contract
with Deacero, a leading Mexican steel company, to supply oxygen, argon and
nitrogen to a new plant being built in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, a major
industrial region in north Mexico. Praxair will build, own and operate a new
state-of-the-art and energy-efficient cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) with
a capacity of 500 tons per day. The new ASU is expected to start up in the
first quarter of 2014. The steel plant will produce 1.5 million tons of steel
per year.
