Germany’s SMS Elotherm, the induction specialist in the SMS
Meer Business Area, and Tech Induction Corp. joined forces to improve the
support of customers in North America. The new lineup will allow the two
partners to offer a wider range of products and services. Tech Induction will
contribute a 3,500-square-meter production workshop in Detroit, Mich., to the
joint business. This includes the company’s own R&D department and a repair
shop for inductors.
Products such as hardening inductors and heating coils will now be manufactured in both Remscheid, Germany, and in the U.S. The Tech Induction brand will be maintained as part of the newly founded SMS Elotherm LLC. President and CEO Darren Martens will continue business in this position and ensure a positive continuity. According to SMS Elotherm, business partners in the U.S. will directly benefit from the extended range of products and services.
