C.I. Hayes announced the installation of a VCQ-ME batch
vacuum furnace with oil and gas quenching at a Midwest-based bearing
manufacturer. The furnace, which will be primarily used for carburizing and
hardening, has work dimensions of 9 inches x 12 inches x 24 inches and a maximum
operating temperature of 2400°F. It has quenching flexibility with both inert
gas cooling and oil-quenching capabilities and is ideal for tool-room, research
and light production applications.
