SECO/WARWICK S.A. of Poland supplied a vacuum furnace to a
leading manufacturer of helicopters for civil and military customers. The gas-quenching
(nitrogen) furnace, which is dedicated for low-pressure carburizing of gears
and transmission parts, has a maximum load weight of 1,000 kg (2,204 pounds).
With a work-zone size of 900 x 800 x 1,200 mm (35.4 x 31.5 x 47.3 inches), the
furnace has a maximum temperature of 1300°C (2372°F)
and maximum vacuum of 10-2
mbar.
