Steel Dynamics was chosen based on the company’s achievement of operational excellence, its industry-leading 2010 financial performance in steelmaking and its continuing progress in the strategic development of its raw-materials platforms. In related news, ThyssenKrupp Steel USA was named the winner for “Best Greenfield Technology” at AMM’s Awards for Steel Excellence, and Schnitzer Southeast LLC, a division of Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc., was named “Scrap Company of the Year.”
