Austria’s Hertwich Engineering commissioned two melting furnaces with annual production of 50,000 tons at Otto Fuch’s facility in Meinerzhagen, Germany. The two-chamber furnaces, which are charged from above, are equipped with regenerative heating systems to help reduce energy consumption and emissions. The furnaces operate with integrated scrap preheating and use the immersion melting process, which enables them to achieve the highest possible metal yield. They will replace outdated induction furnaces.
