Stripco Inc. announced an expansion project at its facility in
Mishawaka, Ind. The flat-rolled steel processor and cold-rolled strip producer
will add three new annealing bases and a building large enough to more than
double existing annealing capacity in the future. Rad-Con Inc. will provide the
pure hydrogen batch-annealing equipment. Each new annealing base accommodates
100 tons with a stack height of 205 inches. Coils can be up to .375 inches
thick, 72 inches wide and 50,000 pounds.
Stripco will continue its use of hydrogen-recycling technology in the expanded facility, which will allow the company to meet the growing demand of customers. Construction has begun on the nearly 10,000-square-feet addition to Stripco’s existing precision cold-roll strip facility. Production will begin December 2011.
