For years I was involved with export licensing of products and manufacturing processes for clients as required by government, regulated by the Departments of Defense (State Department being the nominal paper-pusher) and Commerce, and codified by the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
