The Grade B-1338 is a specially processed dispersion of titanium dioxide in a non-smoking aqueous carrier. It has been designed to provide increased release properties in the casting of nonferrous metals. Other uses include the coating of troughs, pouring ladles, prilling dishes, sand cores, and thermocouple sheaths. Ingredients of the coating impart a tough, high density coating. When completely dry, the coating is resistant to thermal shock and cracking during the pouring of molten metal. It is applied by painting or spraying on molds and can be used neat or diluted up to 2:1.
