Statistics as reported by 21 members of the Industrial Heating Equipment Association
Total domestic and foreign orders for industrial heating equipment, as reported by 21 members of the Industrial Heating Equipment Association (IHEA) in Cincinnati, Ohio, for the second quarter of 2004, were $69.06 million, an increase of 8.0% from orders received and reported by the same companies for the second quarter of 2003. Domestic orders for all industrial heating equipment for the second quarter of 2004 totaled $61.07 million, an increase of 13.2% from orders reported in the same quarter of 2003. Foreign orders for the second quarter were $8.0 million, down 8.7% from 2003. Domestic industrial furnace and oven orders only for the second quarter of 2004 were $22.74 million, up 32.7% from the same quarter in 2003. Other domestic equipment orders, including process control systems, industrial combustion equipment, replacement parts and other types of equipment totaled $38.33 million for the second quarter of 2004, an 8.6% increase for the same reporting companies from the same quarter in 2003. In a new portion of the survey, responding companies showed the most growth in the following industries: automotive, commercial heat treating, food processing, and electrical machinery and appliances.
