Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for April 2017 continued the impressive increase that began in November 2016. Three numbers were at or over 60: change in the number of request for quotes, change in the number of orders and expected change in the health of the industry. It was the first time since February 2006 that three indices were at or over 60 in the same month, and it was the first time since April 2005 the expected change in the health of the industry reached that mark. April 2017’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their March 2017 business levels to their February 2017 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
