Nitrex Metal has sold two complete NX-1015 gas nitriding systems to MAHLE Group, a leader in the design and production of piston systems. These gas nitriding systems will process piston rings using the Nitreg-S controlled nitriding technology for stainless steels and enable MAHLE to meet requirements for quality standards. This order represents MAHLE’s eighth and ninth Nitrex systems for use in piston-ring manufacturing.

The systems are scheduled for installation during the third quarter of the year at MAHLE’s facilities in Ying Kou, China, and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Nitrex, which is a member of United Process Controls, had previously supplied gas nitriding systems to MAHLE facilities in Brazil and Portugal.
