Metal Improvement Company Expands Capabilities
Metal Improvement Company (MIC) has added equipment and capabilities at three of its heat-treating facilities in the Midwest. MIC’s Wichita, Kan., facility is installing a vacuum furnace in April of this year. The furnace has a work zone of 48 x 48 x 60 and will be used to increase capacity. MCI’s Ft. Wayne, Ind., facility is upgrading its mesh-belt furnace with infrared gas analysis for feedback control. This feature will improve consistency of results by maintaining tighter control of heat-treating parameters. MCI’s facility in Columbus, Ohio, has added a new “Super 36” integral quench batch furnace and associated temper furnace to increase capacity. MIC, which is based in Paramus, N.J., has a total of nine heat-treating facilities in the U.S.
