Surface Combustion Inc. Receives Order for Vacuum Carburizing System

Surface Combustion Inc. (Maumee, Ohio) has received an order for a multi-chamber Vacuum Carburizing System, utilizing Surface's patented VringCARB® technology, from Specialty Heat Treating, Inc. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Specialty is a commercial heat-treating service specializing in vacuum processes, with additional facilities in Holland, Michigan and Elkhart, Indiana.

The new vacuum carburizing system is a multi-chamber design with a combination charge/discharge vestibule, transfer chamber, electrically heated vacuum carburizing chamber, electrically heated high-temperature processing chamber, and a 20-bar gas quench cell. The system has a two-fold expansion capability to serve a growing market.
