Pfeiffer Vacuum acquired Trinos Vakuum-Systeme GmbH of Göttingen, Germany. This acquisition expands the Pfeiffer Vacuum portfolio to include the high-quality vacuum components, chambers and systems of Trinos Vakuum-Systeme. Synergies exist in the ability of the two companies to develop and engineer new technologies. The acquisition will impact all regions and market segments, particularly the North American region and the analytical, coating and research-and-development segments.

According to Pfeiffer Vacuum, the acquisition moves the company closer to becoming a full-line provider of vacuum applications. Trinos Vakuum-Systeme was formed in 1997 and employs a workforce of around 140 people. Pfeiffer Vacuum plans to retain all current employees expand the location in Göttingen.
